Mankato Motorsports Night

AJ Zimmerman out bested 31 B&B Racing Chassis IMCA Stock Cars to win his first ever feature win, the race went green to checkered and was led by Ryan Grochow the first 3 laps, Zimmerman took the high side and passed him to take over and remain the leader lap by lap. The final laps he encountered lapped traffic but protected his groove and went on to win. Grochow fell back positions which gave Brent Uecker the advantage of moving up, he and Dakota Robinson were battling for the 2nd spot but it was Uecker at the line taking 2nd, Robinson took 3rd just ahead of Matt Speckman.
Cory Probst was victorious again in the Jack Pines Resort IMCA Hobby feature. Blake Foesch led the first 6 laps of the race but soon hardcharger Blake Luinenberg who had started 10th passed both Chad Volk and Foesch to take over the lead. It looked as if he would win the extra $300 bounty money put up for Cory but Probst made a last lap pass coming out of turn #4 to finish inches ahead of Luinenberg and take the win. Volk finished 3rd ahead of Brad Becker.
A red flag occurred on the first lap of the Coors Light IMCA Sport Compact feature when Marc Grey had the misfortune of rolling his car once again. On the restart, Eric Stocker was able to capture the lead but soon both Alan Lahr and Justin Dose passed him. On the 6th lap, Emily Christensen spun and went into the pond on turn #2. On the restart, Lahr once again took the lead and led the remaining 4 laps to win ahead of Dose and Stocker.
A yellow flag started the Arlington State Bank IMCA Sport Modified feature as Joey Reimers spun out. The cars restarted and Cole Hesse had the lead until he spun in turn #2. Then Tony Stephensmeier had the point on the restart but not for long as Matt Looft got by him by the time they entered turn #2. For the following 9 laps Zac Davis worked on Looft as he wanted to claim the $300 bounty on Looft but he had to settle for 2nd at the line as Looft finished 1st. Stephensmeier took 3rd.
The eXmark Outlaw Hobby feature saw 4 yellow flags throughout the race. The early leader was Garett Uecker starting in the 2nd row he took over the race but after 3 yellow flags and 3 restarts, both Karl Hewitt and Daniel Eckblad got around him. On lap 9 another yellow came out for the 15 and the 87 of Uecker jumped the start putting him back a couple of positions at the finish. When the race restarted, Eckblad and Hewitt both battled for the lead but it was Eckblad who came out the winner. Hewitt finished 2nd ahead of Mark Oestreich.
Monte Ferrero led 16 laps of the 20 lap Rice Companies IMCA RaceSaver Sprint feature. Going into turn #4, he was rounding the corner, got too high spun out and lost his position. He then drove into the pit area. That gave the lead to Matt Johnson who had been in 2nd place from lap 4. Brett Allen was in third place but was able to take the high side and passed Owen Graf. After the restart, Lee Goos also passed Graf and tried to close the gap on Allen but he had to settle for 3rd behind Allen and the Johnson came across at 1st.
There were a few spin outs in the Ottomotive Tire & Repair IMCA Modified feature causing three caution flags. Jason Schroeder was able to lead the first 8 laps but after the last restart, he had troubles and went into the pit area ending his night. That gave Trent Loverude the lead as he had worked up from his 10th place start. Chad Porter followed Loverude but couldn’t get by him and had to settle for 2nd behind Loverude. Dan Menk finished 3rd ahead of Clint Hatlestad.
Josh Compton had a clean sweep in the EZ Wash & Storage Truck Cross finding victory lane for the 1st time this year. Dustin Theuringer led the first 2 laps but after a red flag for the 93a truck rolling over, Compton got by Theuringer to take the lead. and go onto win the race. Theuringer raced around lapped traffic to take 2nd ahead of Aric Rolf.
Brenna Braunworth had a great comeback as she took off a few races to fix her car. Ashlyn Karnick led the first 9 laps of the race but Braunworth passed her on the last lap to win. Aaron Brinkman took 3rd place.
