Racing Resumes Saturday; Twin 25's

Racing action resumes this Saturday night, 6pm the post time. This week’s action, Huntley Trucking Twin 25’s presented by Peru Federal Credit Union. The Ernie’s Discount Tools Sportsman Modifieds will run two 25-lap features. Also on tap, Jeffords Steel Renegades and Busch Beer Mini Mods.

Last week, Mother Nature provided plenty of sunshine and warm temperatures on Autograph Night presented by Econo Lodge of Plattsburgh. The first 50 kids thru the gate were given a free autograph book from our friends at the Econo Lodge and were able to join their favorite drivers on the front stretch during intermission for autographs.

It was a regular event on the racing schedule for all of Airborne’s 3 Divisions. The Ernie’s Discount Tools Modified feature was slowed only by one caution flag for a spin on the front stretch. Bucko Branham was able to claim his second feature win in as many weeks, as he worked his way up from the eighth starting position to claim his checkered flag. Branham was followed across the line by Mike Wells, Codie Aubin, Danny Sullivan, and Nick Heywood. Heat winners were Rico Hernandez and Chris Sousie.

The Busch Beer Mini Modifieds also put on a good show for the Airborne faithful, as Dale O’Neil grabbed the checkered flag. With limited caution laps the top drivers had to move quickly to make their way to the front of the field. Second thru fifth went to Josh LaPorte, Pete Blaney, Tim LaFountain, and Tyler Irwin. Heat winners were Blaney and O’Neil.

Jeffords Steel Renegades concluded the Saturday racing card. Zach Daniels took the lead early and seemed to be well on his way to victory until transmission issues became a problem as the laps wound down. Daniels was able to hold on for the victory. Robert Gordon passed the most cars as he started deep in the field and worked his way up to a second place finish. Daniels and Gordon were followed across the line by Jason McClatchie, Shawn Duquette, and Zach Rabtoy. Heat winners were, Daniels, Brent Jarvis, and Duquette.
