NO WEAK LINKS: Rico Abreu Takes Bloomquist Back to Eldora Victory Lane at 4-Crown Nationals

For one weekend only, Rico Abreu donned a tribute to Scott Bloomquist as he returned to Eldora Speedway for the first time since the Dirt Late Model legend passed away in August.

Hailing from Planet Zero and representing "No Weak Links" on his #24, it felt quite fitting that Abreu aced Eldora like Bloomquist had done countless times in his career. The honoring of Bloomer came completely full circle when Rico delivered the famous chop celebration atop the wing in victory lane.

Leading all 30 laps of the 4-Crown Nationals, Abreu held off an attempted slider from Brad Sweet in the early running and then kept a low-rolling Jacob Allen at bay in the closing circuits to seal a $15,000 score at "The Big E."

The victory was Abreu's 11th overall win at Eldora Speedway and his fourth at the 4-Crown Nationals - tying him for the eight-most wins in event history. The St. Helena, CA native previously topped the race in 2013 (Midgets), 2016 (Midgets), and 2021 (Winged Sprint).

It was his 12th career win with Kubota High Limit Racing (most all-time) and eighth trip to Whiskey Myers Victory Lane this season, giving him control of the wins list ahead of Brad Sweet (7), Corey Day (7), and Tyler Courtney (5).

For the first time since April, Hanover, PA's Jacob Allen returned to the podium with Kubota High Limit Racing - quietly but efficiently rolling around the inside wall to a second-place finish in the Shark Racing #1A.

Earning hard-charger honors at the 4-Crown, Spencer Bayston completed the top-three with a stout charge from 18th-to-3rd for his fourth podium of 2024 in the CJB Motorsports, TrueTimber #5.

Closing out the top-10 at Eldora on Saturday was Anthony Macri, Justin Peck, Brent Marks, Brad Sweet, James McFadden, Cory Eliason, and Zeb Wise.
