Iowa's Chris Martin Storms To Deep South Speedway Win With ASCS Hurricane Area Super Sprints

LOXLEY, Ala. (October 26, 2024) Missing it by one on Friday night, Iowa's Chris Martin traded in silver for gold Saturday night with his first carer win with the ASCS Hurricane Area Super Sprints at Deep South Speedway in Loxley, Ala.

Last winning with the American Sprint Car Series in 2018 with the National Tour at Wyoming's Gillette Thunder Speedway, Martin took the green from fourth. Into second by the second revolution, Martin chased Correr Wray through the the first half of the feature before taking command on Lap 16.

Winning by 2.521-seconds, the Iowa shoe pocketed $2,000 for his efforts. Terry Witherspoon made it to second after starting ninth, with Brandon Blenden moving from 14th to third. Keeping the passing trend going, Kyle Amerson ran 11th to fourth, with Conner Wray ending up fifth.

Locking up the 2024 title on Friday night, Lane Whittington took it by 110 points over Jake Brashier, who was tied with Evan McElhaney for second going into the final night of the season.
