Dirtslinger Team Roars to Super Modified Tractor Class Championship Presented by Mitas
Sellersburg, IN (October 25th, 2023) – The Super Modified Tractor class, presented by Mitas, once again brought roaring, raucous action to Champions Tour events of the Pro Pulling League in 2023. A familiar team emerged with the points title in 2023, with the Dirtslinger Team from Weldon, Illinois taking home that impressive win.
For the team, led by celebrated pulling veteran Bill Leischner, the path to the top of the class for the "Dirtslinger" propelled by four Hemis was a study in consistency and making a critical championship "push." Bill, along with his son Jed, shared driving duties and began their season with a run of top-three finishes. After a sub-par run at Altamont, Illinois, they re-grouped, hammering out three straight wins that launched them into a great position to claim the title. With a second-place finish at their final hook of the year in Canfield, Ohio, the Dirtslinger team clinched the championship, eighteen points ahead of Dylan Owens and the "Thorn" machine in second, and twenty-four points ahead of Tom Owens who piloted the "Ramblin Rose" into the third spot.
Any championship run is challenging with one machine to focus on, and the Dirtslinger Team had extra challenge of fielding a second mod (Dirtslinger X driven by Shannon Leischner) and the longtime partnership in running in Mini Rod competition with the Netherlands-based "Bobcat Jr." driven primarily by Abbey Leischner. All three machines notched wins on the Champions Tour in 2023, cementing the dedication of the team to pulling excellence.
The Leischners, along with the other standout competitors in this class will stand in the spotlight for honors and recognition at the 2023 Champions Tour Banquet held at the Hyatt Regency in Louisville, Kentucky on Saturday, November 18th.
Please join us in congratulating the entire Dirtslinger Team on their stellar 2023 pulling season!
