Pro Pulling League
Jones, Slagh, and Parish Notch Huge Wins at Super Pro Showdown
Sellersburg, IN (July 17, 2023) – Friday July 14th saw three classes from the Champions Tour of the Pro Pulling League take over the Jersey County Fairgrounds in Jerseyville, Illinois for the annual Super Pro Showdown. This was the second of a three-night swing through Illinois for Pro Pulling League competitors.
The opening class for the Champions Tour contingent was the ARP Lightweight Super Stock Tractor division, with Bobby Jones and the "Field Sobriety" CaseIH in the points lead entering Jerseyville. Jones would take the lead on the third of the hook with a blast of 339.11 and held on for the win in a field of nine tractors. Jones would also claim second, piloting the "Red" CaseIH out of the Shramek Pulling Team stable of machines to a distance of 333.58, while Bryan Haug held the reins on the Big Temptation Case, soaring into the third spot with a run of 328.95.
Returning to action after their season debut at the Southern Illinois Showdown was the Mini Rod Tractor class presented by SCS Gearbox/Probell Racing. Fourteen elite competitors took on the Jersey County clay with Jeff Hirt and the "Lil Bare" machine holding the points lead entering the event. Like Jones did in the LWSS class, Bruce Slagh and the "Show No Mercy" laid down a dominant pass of 354.32 on the third hook of the class and took the Super Pro Showdown win. Matt Johnson and the "1X" machine followed at 346.27 while Hirt put the "Lil Bare" machine in the third spot on a 333.29 run.
Closing out the evening in Jerseyville were the Pro Stock Tractors presented by Lemke Motorsports. Kevin Masterson entered the event with River Rat Deere in the top points spot. The class was led off by third generation puller Rhett Parish and the "El Niño" CaseIH whose run of 334.8 would stand up for the win. John Link and the Revvelation Pro IH followed at 330.16 and Tim Stone and the "Rollin' Stone" Deere in third at 325.78.
All three classes would head northeast from Jerseyville for America's Pull in Henry, Illinois on July 15th to complete the trio of events in the Land of Lincoln. This event was live streamed on FloRacing and can be viewed with a subscription to www.FloRacing.com.
