Jones, Eller, and White Take Top Honors at Fisher Community Fair
Sellersburg, IN (July 14, 2023) – The Fisher Community Fair in Fisher, Illinois played host Thursday July 13th to three Champions Tour classes with a great crowd on hand ready for top-flight pulling action.
The evening kicked off with the ARP Lightweight Super Stock Tractors in their third session of the 2023 season. Bobby Jones and the "Field Sobriety" CaseIH entered the event as the points leader having won both sessions at the Mound City, Missouri season opener. Jones would continue his winning streak with a monster run of 349.33. Second would go to the "Eat'n Dollars Alky Edition" Deere piloted by David Esteb and third to Jacob Kessler on the "Night Shift" Deere.
Also running in their third session for the 2023 season were the ARP Super Stock Diesel Trucks. Kent Crowder, like Jones was riding a points lead based on back-to-back wins at the Southern Illinois Showdown season opener in the "Scheid Diesel" Dodge. The victory in Fisher would go to Chase Eller and his "Caretaker" Dodge on a 358 foot blast, with Crowder garnering the second place position on a run to 356.76. Brady Ingram wheeled the "American Pride" Dodge out to 354.79, securing third place.
Super Modified Two Wheel Drive Trucks presented by Optima Batteries opened their season in Fisher with a stellar group of twenty-two drivers and machines. Mikey White and the "Addiction" Chevy entered the event as the defending class champion with a target on his back from a field of top flight competitors. White would kick off the season with the win on a mid-pack run of 334.61, with another past class champion, Jared Nelson and the "Midnight Revenger" Chevy in second at 328.77. A scant six inches behind Nelson was Jessie Petro, who piloted the "P5" Ford to a distance of 328.22.
The season continues tonight, July 14th, for the ARP Lightweight Super Stocks at the Super Pro Showdown at the Jersey County Fair in Jerseyville, Illinois, while the ARP Super Stock Diesel Trucks hit the track Saturday July 15th at America's Pull in Henry, Illinois. Super Modified Trucks presented by Optima Batteries continue their season at the Elkhart 4-H Fair in Goshen, Indiana on July 27th.
