Hagedorn, Pedley, and Stahl Double Up at Rumble by the Refuge

Sellersburg, IN (June 27, 2023) – The twin tracks at the Old Rodeo Grounds in Mound City, Missouri were the battleground for seven classes of pulling for the storied 11th Annual Rumble by the Refuge on Friday June 23rd and Saturday June 24th. Those classes vied for Champions Tour, Hart's Diesel Silver Series, and Champion Seed Western Series supremacy in two sessions.

In the No Way Man Diesel Limited Pro Stock Diesel Truck competition the finishing order for the top three was the same in both sessions. Leading the way for the evening was the "Spooled Up" old school Chevy of Ryan Stahl, taking the win both sessions, while Jason Wayman and the Megatron Dodge roared into the second spot. Jimmy Deverman and the "Chainsmoker" Dodge would finish third.

Limited Mini Rods were a new addition to the roster at the Rumble by the Refuge with nine machines answering the call in the Friday session and ten on Saturday. The Friday session saw Donnie Jasper and the "Thunderstruck 2.0" machine roar to the win while Dominic Pecka and the "One More Bad Habit" capturing the second spot. Third in that session went to Jay Butson and the" E15." In Saturday's session, fans saw TJ Turner and the "Turner Loose" shake up the finishing order on his winning mid-class run, while Zach Jasper piloted the "Thunderstruck"into the second spot. Pecka remained consistent top-three competitor for the weekend with his third-place finish.

Another new class to the Rumble by the Refuge was the 5.0 Pro Stock Tractor division. Still in the formative stages, it gives competitors another option between the 95 Limited Pro Stock and full-tilt Pro Stock classes. Kyle Pedley and the "Wide Loose Deere" were in the top spot for both sessions. Friday night's second place machine was the "Cottonmouth" IH of Richard Warren. Gage Porter guided the "Gang Green" Deere into the third spot on Friday and second on Saturday, with Warren unable to make the call in Saturday's action.

Sancrest Specialized Transport 85 Limited Pro Stocks proved to be super-competitive at the Rumble by the Refuge with great class numbers. Josh Hannan and the "Cawood's Comet" IH bested 18 other entries on Friday night for the victory with Conner Witt on the "Destructive Deere" JD in second and Otto Peterson guiding the "Now or Never" IH into the third spot. Saturday's win went to Richard Dove on the "Against the Grain" IH, second to David Doughtery on the "High Price Hooker" CaseIH and third to Hannah.

95 Limited Pro Stocks had the unique opportunity to "double-dip" for class points in Mound City, as they competed for Kawasaki Parts Warehouse points on the Hart's Diesel Silver Series and Sancrest Trailer Sales points on the Champion Seed Western Series. Brent Schorfheide had an exceptional first session, scoring the win on the "She Gone" CaseIH and third on the "618 Motorsports" CaseIH. Rod Schottel and the "Ole Black Magic" Case would finish second in that opening session. Saturday's session found a green machine shaking up the running order at the top with Steve Bousema and the "Special Edition" JD in the Winner's Circle and the "Runnin' Red Hot" IH piloted by Al Wright in second. Schorfheide would again lock up the third sport with the "618 Motorsports" machine on Saturday.

Debuting for the 2023 Champions Tour Season in Mound City was the ARP Lightweight Super Stock Tractor class. Dale Haug and his potent "Big Temptation" Case held off the efforts of seven other entries to take the Friday session win while Bobby Jones drove the "Field Sobriety" CaseIH into the second position. Third in Friday's action went to Daniel Northcutt and the "On the Edge" CaseIH. Saturday's finish order offered Jones improving on Friday with the win and Todd Maedge and the "Monkey Mayhem Uncaged" CaseIH in the second spot. Haug backed up his Friday win with a third in Saturday's action.

With two competitive sessions at the Mackville Nationals the weekend prior to the Rumble by the Refuge, Pro Modified Trucks presented by Summit Racing Equipment had another big weekend with huge points implications. Hot off the Saturday night win in Mackville was Terry Hagedorn and the Kickin' Up Dust Chevy. Hagedorn kept his hot streak alive with wins in both sessions in Mound City, asserting a strong early claim to the 2023 points title. Steve Clem and the "Ratical" Chevy finished second on Friday with Justin Grace and the "Just In Time" Chevy capturing third in that session. The Saturday session featured a second place finish from defending class champ Jim Bosch and the "Midnight Raider" Chevy with Josh Mazur and the "Unfinished Business" Chevy in third.

Up next for the Pro Pulling League is a new stop in Osceola, Iowa for the Junction Town Showdown on June 30th and July 1st. Look for a press release tomorrow highlighting this event in greater detail.
