PPL Stars Unleash Diesel Power on Track at SDX 26
Charlestown, IN (August 29th, 2022) – Wagler Motorsports Park in Lyons, Indiana set the fitting stage for the 26th Edition of the Scheid Diesel Extravaganza on Friday August 26th and Saturday August 27th, 2022. Speed and power borne from the mind of Rudolf Diesel were displayed in their ultimate form through drag racing, dyno pulls, and pulling action from the Lucas Oil Pro Pulling League across both days. The pulling contingent featured stars from the Champions Tour, Ag Protect 1 Midwest Region and Silver Series.
Each day began with qualifying competition from two Ag Protect 1 Midwest Region divisions. Pullers from the Limited Pro Stock Diesel Truck class and Pro Street Diesel Truck class competed in two flights per class, with the top 10 from each Limited Pro Stock Diesel Truck flight and top 6 from each of the Pro Street Diesel Truck flights gaining a berth into the evening sessions for both days. Winners in Pro Street Diesel qualifying included Mike Peabody and the Struck by Lightning Dodge and the Hall Pass Chevy of Ronnie Hall. Jason Wayman and the Megatron Dodge and the Cummin Get It Dodge of Jordan Kinderman led the two flights of Limited Pro Stock Diesel action.
The Friday evening session saw Derrick Amos and the Recycled Hooker Dodge take the Limited Pro Stock Diesel Truck win, improving on his third place finish from the qualifying round. Pro Street Diesel Truck competition featured Damon Winland and the Ram named Trudy in the winners circle, also improving from a third place finish in his qualifying flight.

Sixteen of the nation’s best Super Farms competed for Champions Tour points. Andy Schwenk took the lead three-quarters of the way through the class on the Runnin Buck Wild Deere with some serious bullets to dodge remaining, including defending class champ Josh Miley and the High Maintenan$e CaseIH set for the last hook. Miley would fall just short of Schwenk and end up in second, with Schwenk at 330.72 to Miley’s 328.09. Eddie Roe and the Redweiser IH finished third, tying his best finish for the 2022 campaign thus far.
