Pro Pulling League
Hastings, Leischner and Wiederhold Win Big at Marion County Fair
Charlestown, IN (August 10th, 2022) – Closing out a big weekend of pulling for the Lucas Oil Pro Pulling League was the debut of the PPL at the Marion County Fair in Salem, Illinois on August 6th, 2022.
Three classes entertained a great crowd of fans with a mix of smoke, power, and noise.
Kicking off the show was the Light Pro Stock class competing for Silver Series supremacy. The leader of the pack, Mark Wiederhold and the Bare Necessities Deere, took the win once again, sweeping the weekend and marking 5 wins in a row for the team from Clarksville, Ohio. Scott Webb and the Ragin’ Red IH was once again in second place having been the runner-up the night before in Mt. Sterling, Illinois. Brad Cochran and the Case named Case Incognito finished in third for the evening.
ARP Super Stock Diesel Trucks attacked the track next with nine stout trucks in action. Former class champion Cody Hastings and the Against the Grain Dodge roared to the win, besting the efforts of Kent Crowder and the Scheid Diesel Dodge in second and the Caretaker Dodge of Chase Eller in third.
It’s been a battle between the Dirtslinger team and the Long Brothers recently in Big River Steel Super Modified Tractor competition and that battle shows no signs of letting up. Bill Leischner piloted the Dirtslinger into first place with Keith Long and the Lucas Oil machine in second and Ricky Long and the MAVTV machine in third. Ricky remains atop the points race with Keith in second, while the Optima Batteries Kentuckian of Wayne Sullivan retains the third spot. Leischner, though sixth in points, is creating intrigue for the remainder of the season with standout performances as of late.
All three classes are set to appear this weekend for the Hillsboro Charity Pull in Hillsboro, Wisconsin on August 12th and 13th across three sessions. Make plans to attend that event and watch the points battles amp up to declare class champions for 2022!
