HTF Battles Bristol Adversity
Hunt The Front and Joseph Joiner returned to Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway on Friday afternoon for the second weekend of the Karl Kustom Bristol Dirt Nationals. The XR Super Series / Valvoline Iron-Man Series event drew 30 Super Late Models, and the team encountered adversity early in the night with a broken bolt in the rearend in heat race action.
The team scrambled to get their other car ready just in time to tag the tail of a B-Main. Joiner advanced from 14th-to-sixth in the B-Main, which earned him the 22nd starting spot for the feature. He would go on to register an 18th-place finish in the $50,000-to-win event.
The weekend drew to a close on Saturday night. Joseph qualified for the feature via preliminary action, but was an early retiree on lap-28 with an overheating engine. He was credited with a 19th-place finish.
