Colossal 100 Brings HTF to Charlotte
Joseph Joiner made the trip north to The Dirt Track at Charlotte (Concord, N.C.) on Thursday for the opening round of the Colossal 100. The XR Super Series event attracted a field of 47 competitors, and Joseph earned the 20th-starting spot for the feature via prelim action.
With passing being limited, Joiner retired early to a 22nd-place finish.
Luck wouldn’t be on Joseph’s side on Thursday night. A heat race slip up in heat race action, buried Joiner in a B-Main grid. He managed to advance from 10th-to-sixth, but still fell a few spots short of transferring to the $25,000-to-win feature as his night came to an early end.
After being rained out on Friday night the weekend drew to a close on Saturday night with the $50,000-to-win finale. Mechanical struggles in prelims forced Joseph to unload a backup car and utilize a provisional to start the night’s 50-lap finale in the 24th position. He would go on to record a 19th-place finish.
