Fourth-place finish in Colossal 100 opener at Charlotte

After topping his time trial group with a blistering 16.242-second lap, Bailes outran Jensen Ford in his heat race to capture the 10-lap victory. With $25,000 on the line in the feature, Ross dropped two spots in the 30-lap affair to register a fourth-place finish. He trailed Chris Madden, Scott Bloomquist, and Jonathan Davenport to the checkers with Chris Ferguson coming in fifth.
For another $25,000-to-win A-Main on Thursday, Ross edged his way into the feature with the third-and-final transfer spot in his heat. Inching forward one spot in the 30-lapper, Bailes logged a 13th-place outing.
With Mother Nature wiping out Friday’s program, Bailes followed up a sixth-to-fourth run in his heat race on Saturday with a consolation victory. Earning the 20th-starting position for the $50,000-to-win Colossal 100 finale, Ross was one of eight cars that retired early from the 50-lap feature.
