Weiss finishes fifth in Bristol Dirt Nationals point standings

On Friday afternoon, Ricky Weiss returned to the dirt-covered Bristol Motor Speedway (Bristol, Tenn.) for the final two rounds of the Bristol Dirt Nationals. With 30 Late Models entered, Weiss secured his spot into the $50,000-to-win A-Main with a heat race win. Losing one spot in the 50-lap affair, Ricky posted a fifth-place finish. The following night, Weiss claimed the fast time honors in time trials with a 14.982-second lap before placing first in his heat. Starting the feature in second, Ricky shot into the lead on the opening circuit and carried a steady pace out front until Dale McDowell snuck by on lap 29. He went onto finish 10th after suffering a flat left-rear tire on lap 36.
