New Look: Speed Showcase™ $50,000 to win Event at Port Royal Set for October 13-15

PORT ROYAL, PA The Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series (STSS) Fueled By Sunoco returns to Port Royal Speedway Thursday-Saturday Oct. 13-15 for the third edition Speed Showcase™ weekend.

This October™s edition of the Speed Showcase™ takes on a fresh, new look.

The headline event Saturday™s Speed Showcase™ for the STSS big-block/small-block Modifieds will be 75 laps in distance paying $50,000 to the winner and $1,000 to take the green.

The Speed Showcase™ Modified pay structure is as follows: 1. $50,000; 2. $20,000; 3. $10,000; 4. $7,000; 5. $4,000; 6. $3,000; 7. $2,500; 8. $2,250; 9. $2,000; 10. $1,750; 11. $1,650; 12. $1,600; 13. $1,550; 14. $1,500; 15. $1,450; 16. $1,400; 17. $1,350; 18. $1,300; 19. $1,250; 20. $1,200; 21. $1,150; 22. $1,100; 23. $1,050; 24-Last. $1,000. Provisionals (-$500).

The 22 Speed Showcase™ includes Rounds No. 7 and 8 of the Hurlock Auto & Speed Supply South Region and Event No. 5 of the Halmar International Elite™ Series.

The 75-lap affair is the penultimate event of the season for both the South Region and Elite™ Series, which both conclude two weeks later at Georgetown (Del.) Speedway.

The lucrative weekend of racing begins on Thursday (Oct. 13), as Behrent™s Performance Warehouse presents the Preliminary Night of the Speed Showcase™ weekend.

The STSS Modifieds battle for 40 laps around the Speed Palace™ in pursuit of a $5,500 top prize, $1,000 for 10th and $500 to start. The event serves as Round No. 7 of the Hurlock Auto & Speed Supply $15,000 championship chase.

The STSS Crate 602 Sportsman of the Belmont™s Garage South Region will also be on hand for practice rounds, with the two fastest drivers transferring to the Saturday redraw.

For the Oct. 13 event, grandstand admission is $20 for Adults and $10 for Students (ages 13-18). Kids 12 and under are admitted FREE.

Thursday pit admission is $40.

On Friday (Oct. 14), the Weikert™s Livestock 410 Sprint Cars join the program as part of Bob Hilbert Sportswear Qualifying Night.

The lightning-fast 410 Sprint Cars race for 25 laps around the sprawling half-mile for a $5,000 winner™s share.

The STSS Modifieds begin their quest to qualify for Saturday's main event, with 20-lap Qualifying Races.

The STSS Crate 602 Sportsman hit the Port Royal clay for the first time on the weekend, taking part in 15-lap Qualifying Races.

The full-fender Pro Stocks based in New York State will also be on hand for practice rounds as part of Bob Hilbert Sportswear Qualifying Night.

For the Oct. 14 event, grandstand admission is $25 for Adults and $10 for Students (ages 13-18). Kids 12 and under are admitted FREE.

Friday pit admission is $35.

All roads lead to the main event on Saturday (Oct. 15). The STSS Modifieds and STSS Crate 602 Sportsman will run last chance races to set the field for their respective main events.

The Speed Showcase™ championship for the Modifieds battle for 75 laps around the Speed Palace™ with $50,000-plus reserved for the winner.

The STSS Crate 602 Sportsman race in their most prestigious event of the season, as Ice Less LLC presents the Speed Showcase 50,™ paying $4,000 to win and $200 just to take the green.

The Pro Stocks run a full program on Saturday as well, going 30 laps in their main event for $1,200 to win minimum and $125 to start.

For the Oct. 15 event, reserved Grandstand Admission is $40 (all seats).

Saturday Reserved Seating (sections A-G) will go on sale September 14 through the Port Royal Speedway office at 717.527.2303.

General grandstand admission is $35 for Adults and $20 for Students (ages 13-18). Kids ages 12 and under are admitted FREE.

Saturday pit admission is $50.

Weekend (three-day) pit passes will be available for $125.

Sunday (Oct. 16) is reserved as a rain date of the weekend.

Camper and Hauler parking begins Wednesday (Oct. 12).

Campers with reserved non-hookup spots from 2021 will be contacted first to renew for 2022. Non-hook-up camping spots will be open to new campers starting the week of Aug. 22.

Full-season electric hook-up site holders will be contacted with first right of refusal. Open spots will be available starting Aug. 29.  

The entire weekend will be broadcast live on FloRacing (www.floracing.tv) as part of the annual subscription.
