All Eyes on All-Tech: STSS Breaks New Ground Feb. 5-8 with Sunshine Swing
LAKE CITY,
FL – The Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series (STSS) Fueled By
Sunoco is set to break new ground, literally and figuratively.
The STSS Modifieds and Crate 602 Sportsman are set to invade the
Sunshine State Feb. 5-8, 2020, tackling the clay of Lake City, Fla.’s All-Tech
Raceway. And for the first time in the state of Florida, the Modifieds have the
opportunity to compete for robust purses, topped by a $10,000-to-win 50-lap
main event at the half-mile.
For those unable to make the trek to All-Tech, all events will be broadcast live on DirtTrackDigest TV. Each night can be purchased individually at www.dirttrackdigest.tv and there is a weeklong package available.
The inaugural ‘Sunshine Swing’ kicks off next Wednesday (Feb. 5) with an
open practice session allowing teams to become acclimated to the All-Tech
layout.
Thursday (Feb. 6) brings the first of three race nights. STSS Modifieds
compete in a 30-lap main offering $5,000 to the winner with the companion STSS
Crate 602 Sportsman vying for $1,250 to win in a 25-lap feature.
The stakes go up for the STSS Modifieds on Friday (Feb. 7) with a 40-lap
event offering $7,500 to win. STSS Crate 602 Sportsman again go 25 laps for
$1,250.
Saturday (Feb. 8) brings extra-distance events and larger purses for both divisions. The 50-lap STSS Modified championship pays $10,000 to win, while the 30-lap STSS Crate 602 Sportsman main rewards the winner with $1,500.
Series champions will receive $500 each – Modified and Crate 602 – courtesy of LKQ North Florida. Series champions take home Ray-Ban polarized sunglasses courtesy of Design for Vision and Sunglass Central, with each event winner receiving standard Ray-Ban sunglasses as well.
The STSS Modified champion also takes home a set of four VAHLCO Elite
Series® wheels with a cash value of $1,400.
Each night, the STSS Crate 602 Sportsman will see their winner’s share
boosted by the day’s reported low temperature thanks to Evergreen Fuels Inc.
Should the low on race day be 53 degrees, an additional $53 will be added to
the winner’s payout.
A number of product and cash award bonuses have been posted to reward
competitors further for their long tow south.
Registration has been brisk for both divisions. Modified competitors representing Ontario, New York, New Jersey, Delaware and Pennsylvania have set plans to tow south.
The Crate 602 Sportsman division, likewise, has a large geographic
spread with Vermont, New Hampshire, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania,
Delaware and Maryland represented thus far.
