McDowell went virtually unchallenged in his Shane McDowell Racing/ E-Z-GO No. 17m Kinzer Drilling/ Quality Natural Gas/ Team Zero Race Cars/ Clements Racing Engine Super Late Model to earn $5,000 in the tour’s return to racing.
Laying down the fastest lap overall in time trials to start the night, McDowell locked into the pole position for the main event. Jumping to the race lead at the drop of the green flag, Dale soared his second win of the season over Jason Hiett, Tyler Millwood, Donald McIntosh, and Sam Seawright.
“I came up to watch the heats, and you reminisce a little bit and I see these stands packed and for us race car drivers, we’re fortunate enough and blessed to do this,” McDowell commented in Victory Lane. “We couldn’t do it without you guys, so thank you.”

Wrapping up the Memorial weekend on Monday, McDowell made the trip to 411 Motor Speedway (Seymour, Tenn.) for the 8th Annual Scott Sexton Memorial. Dale topped the speed charts in his qualifying group before winning his heat race to start third in the main event. After running inside the Top-5 for much of the race, McDowell was eventually one of several earlier retirees from the 52-lap affair.
