Wyatt Wins Wild Weld!
KCK: Friday Night at Lakeside Speedway the Wholesale Batteries USAC MWRA Sprint Cars put on show to remember with Topeka, Kansas, driver Wyatt Burks taking the win in the Don Rumsey 11w. The “Sheriff” won his 10th all-time feature in the series, a club record, and his second Weld Memorial in the last three seasons.
Following Burks to the line was Jack Wagner of Lone Jack, Mo. charging to 2nd from 17th after winning the B in the JHR Racing 77, while also taking the JDL. Justin Lawson Media hard charger award for his efforts. With Wesley Smith from Nixa, Mo. coming home 3rd in the John Helm Racing 12 to round out the podium. Chris Morgan of Topeka would take 4th in the 7c, and Chris Parkinson rebounded from a bad start to work his way up to 5th in the 65.
Positions 6-10 were taken by Lone Jacks Samuel Wagner, Kearney, Missouri’s Brad Wyatt, KCMO’s Tom Curran, Oak Grove, Mo’s Brian Scott Beebe, and Spring Hill, Kansas, driver Chad Goff.
Earlier in the heat races TJ Forged wheels were won by winners Don Droud Jr. in the Mark Burch 1m, Parkinson, and Luke Howard in the Howard 2H.
*In the A feature Droud, Xavier Doney, and Cody Baker, were all in involved in separate accidents. While all were okay after.
