June 9, 2023 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

(Pulaski, PA)...It was another beautiful weekend to open the month of June for the Hovis Auto and Truck Supply RUSH Racing Series presented by Born2Run Lubricants competitors as weekly Late Model, Sportsman Modified, Pro Mod, and Stock Car action headlined at speedways throughout the region. Josh Wilcox captured his first career victory in Pro Mod action at Bradford, while Tim Shaffer, John Mollick, Todd Chapman, Mike Wonderling, Brett Marlatt, Jason Genco, and Matt Hill won their first RUSH Late Model features of 2023. Kole Holden & Garrett Krummert won their first RUSH Sportsman Modified events of the year.

The Georgetown Speedway hosted a special $1,000 to win RUSH Late Model City Chevrolet Weekly Series event Friday evening as part of the "Deron Rust Memorial". It was the first race for the RUSH Late Models since the "Battle of the Bay" show on April 13. Matt Hill and Trevor Collins swapped the lead several times during the closing laps of the event with Hill making a daring inside maneuver on the final lap to score his first win of 2023. Collins, Derek Magee, Jerry Barker and David Smith finished in the second through fifth positions.

Friday evening’s RUSH Late Model action at Freedom Motorsports Park, saw Dave DuBois pass Dan Bennett and Mike Wonderling to take the lead at the start of the 25-lap main event. DuBois withstood Wonderling’s challenges until lap 14. Wonderling led the final 11 laps to pick up his first win of 2023. DuBois was second as Paul Grigsby, who suffered a flat tire on lap two, was able to work his way through the field to finish third. Logan Jaquay was a season best fourth with Dusty Waters fifth in his first race of 2023.

Skyline Raceway held their fourth RUSH Late Model race of the season and produced their fourth different winner on Friday night! Todd Chapman was the most recent winner beating out his brother Alan, who won on May 19, while May 26 winner, Patrick Parker, was third.

The RUSH Late Models were in action on Thursday, June 1 as part of the Western PA Sprint Speedweek event at Pittsburgh’s PA Motor Speedway. Veteran Tim Shaffer made his first RUSH of 2023 a profitable one. The National Sprint Car Hall of Famer went third to first on the opening lap and was never challenged in the caution-free event for his third career RUSH victory at Pittsburgh. Brandon Burgoon, Kyle Lukon, Cole Petrelle and Logan Zarin finished second through fifth respectively. Zarin made his first RUSH start since 2021 as he was debuting a car for Greg Beach.

Weekly RUSH Late Model action at Pittsburgh’s PA Motor Speedway saw Frank Magill and Cole Petrelle lead the field to the green. A red flag for Brian Huchko slowed the field on the initial start with Petrelle taking the lead when the green would wave for a second time. The duo battled for several laps while ninth place starter John Mollick methodically worked his way through the field. Mollick used the low groove to get by both Magill and Petrelle on the fourth circuit and went on to capture his first RUSH Late Model main event of the season at the Imperial PA oval. Petrelle, Kassidy Kamicker, Magill and Phillip Bubeck rounded out the top five.

Brett Marlatt and Steve LeBarron would lead the RUSH Late Model field to the green Saturday evening at Woodhull Raceway. Two yellow flags flew before one lap would be completed and eight cautions would keep the field bunched together with LeBarron leading laps 1-16. The final yellow flew on lap 16 when two competitors tangled and collected LeBarron ending his hopes for the win. Marlatt inherited the lead and held off the 2022 track champion, Brian Knowles to score his first victory of the year. Austin Allen claimed third with Aaron Miller fourth and Bryce Davis fifth.

Jason Genco started on the front row of the 20-lap RUSH Late Model main event at the Stateline Speedway Saturday, wasted no time taking the top spot and cruised to his first victory of the season. Randy Hall, Josh Ferry, Matt Sipes and Andy Michael followed. Another solid field of 26 cars were on hand. Stateline has averaged over 32 cars per night in their four races this year!

Like Genco, Dave DuBois used his front row starting spot to score a victory at Genesee Speedway one night after a runner-up finish at Freedom. DuBois, who has finished in the top five in each weekly event at the speedway, dominated the 25-lap main event to secure the victory- his second of the season overall in City Chevrolet Weekly Series action. Zach Carley finished in the second position for his best finish of 2023. Bill Holmes, Billy DuBois and Bill Taylor rounded out the top five.

After a pair of runner-up finishes to start the season, David Pangrazio cracked victory lane at Eriez for the first time on Sunday in the RUSH Late Models. After winning at the May 21 event, Breyton Santee was second. Jason Genco was third for the second straight show. Andy Michael was a season best fourth with Matt Sipes recording his second straight top five.

At Bradford Speedway on Sunday, Jeremy Wonderling made it three-for-three on the season in the RUSH Late Models. Kurt Stebbins was a season best second. Brad Mesler recorded his third podium finish in three tries. Garrett Mott was fourth over Jason Dobson.

RUSH Late Model competitors at Potomac, Raceway 7, Tyler County, Delaware International and Winchester Speedway were off this past weekend.

The Hovis Auto and Truck Supply Sportsman Modified Series saw action twice last week as the "Route 7 Rumble Series" presented by Wedge Motorsports continued at Raceway 7 and Sharon Speedway. Youngster Kole Holden took the top spot on lap two of the Friday evening event and never looked back as he went on to claim his first victory of the season at the Conneaut, Ohio oval. Ben Easler, Doug Rutana, Ayden Cipriano and Jake Rutana completed the top five.

Kole Holden and Rob Kristyak led the field to the green Saturday evening at Sharon Speedway with Holden claiming the top spot. Kristyak, Ben Easler and Garrett Krummert, who was subbing for Jordan Ehrenberg, also joined the battle for the top spot with Kristyak officially getting by Holden to lead lap five. Krummert, who was making his first RUSH start of the season, worked his way to second by lap seven and made the winning move to get by Kristyak on the eighth circuit. With Krummert out front, Easler would challenge Kristyak and take the second position on lap 15. At the checkered it was Krummert scoring a 1.011 second victory over Easler. Kristyak, J.C. Boyer and Holden completing the top five.

RUSH Pro Mod action got started off Friday evening at Freedom Motorsports Park. Adam Ashcroft led lap one with Steve Dixon challenging him for the top spot on lap two. John Woodward, Jr. worked his way to the third spot and the threesome distanced themselves from the field. A lap 15 restart gave Dixon the opportunity he needed to slip under Ashcroft and go on to score his second win of the season at the New York facility. Ashcroft, Bill Holmes, Woodward and Critten Hemphill rounded out the top five.

Saturday at the Stateline Speedway Josh Wilcox led the first eight laps before Dixon took over as the leader. Dennis Linger battled Dixon for the remainder of the event but could not deny Dixon his second win of the weekend as well as his second consecutive victory of the season at the New York oval and sixth straight overall in RUSH Pro Mod competition. Lunger had to settle for second with Brenden Warner having his best run of the season to finish third. Al Brewer and Brian Mohawk completed the top five.

Josh Wilcox captured his career first RUSH Pro Mod checkered flag on Sunday at Bradford Speedway ending Dixon's win streak. Wilcox defeated Al Brewer, Zain Harvey, Critter Hemphill and Tim Schram.

Kaden Michael won his second straight RUSH Stock Car feature on Friday at Freedom. Cody Rickard won his second at Eriez on Sunday over Lane Reinwald, Alex Bush, Michael, and Brian Dwyer.

The Hovis Auto and Truck Supply Flynn’s Tire Touring Series will make its first ever stops at both Marion Center Raceway and Knox Raceway on Saturday and Sunday respectively. Both events will pay $3,000 to win.

This weekend’s RUSH Late Model action continues Friday at Raceway 7 and Skyline Raceway. In addition, the Hill Speedway is also hosting a $1,000 to win, $100 start City Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series event on Friday.
