Midwest Sheet Metal Caution Flag to Fly at 2020 Wild West Shootout
‘Midwest Sheet Metal Caution Flag’ will fly during 2020 Keyser Manufacturing Wild West Shootout
QUEEN CREEK, Ariz. (Aug. 29) — Whenever the yellow flag is displayed during the 2020 Keyser Manufacturing Wild West Shootout presented by O’Reilly Auto Parts, everyone at FK Rod Ends Arizona Speedway and watching the DirtonDirt.com pay-per-view video coverage will hear the name Midwest Sheet Metal.
Announcers will identify every slowdown in the action over the six-race meet that stretches from Jan. 11-19 as a Midwest Sheet Metal Caution Flag, event promoters announced.
Seeking to further publicize his popular Springfield, Mo.-based business, Midwest Sheet Metal president Chris Davis has signed on for the first time as a sponsor of the Southwest’s mid-winter racing extravaganza that is headlined by Super Late Models and also includes action for Modifieds and X-Mods.

“Chris Davis and the folks at Midwest Sheet Metal are some of dirt track racing’s biggest supporters, said Wild West Shootout event manager Ben Shelton. “No matter what track I’m at, I regularly see their decals on race cars. In addition, they actively support nearly half a dozen dirt track series. Chris is one of the most genuine guys that you’ll ever meet, and it’s an honor to have him on board as part of the Wild West Shootout family.
Davis, who alongside his wife Jan operates the second-generation, family-owned company that specializes in the design and custom fabrication of carbon steel, stainless and aluminum products, expressed excitement over his involvement in the Wild West Shootout. He also perfectly encapsulated the draw of the annual January miniseries.
“The Wild West Shootout comes at a great time every year for me, Davis said. “The weather around here (in Missouri’s Ozark Mountain Country) is usually pretty miserable that time of year, the holidays are over, and it gets dark at 5 in the evening, so there's not a lot that I can be doing at the farm at night. I think all of us racers are really missing our racing at this time of year, so this gives us something to look forward to.

“I usually watch most all of the DirtonDirt pay-per-views (of the Wild West Shootout) because there's really nothing else going on. Last year, in fact, I went to the Chili Bowl (Midget Nationals in Tulsa, Okla.) and I took my iPad and spent a lot of time out in my truck in the parking lot watching the Wild West Shootout Late Models, while I could hear the Midgets racing in the Expo Center.
“When Ben contacted me about this sponsorship, I thought what a PERFECT Fit for Midwest Sheet Metal, he added. “This will get our name out in front of a lot of potential customers as well as our regular customers. I have a lot of respect for what the Wild West Shootout has grown to become, so I feel like teaming up with them should be a ‘win’ for Midwest Sheet Metal.

The 2020 Keyser Manufacturing Wild West Shootout presented by O’Reilly Auto Parts will pay out over $200,000 in purses over six nights of Super Late Model, Modified and X-Mod racing. Tripleheaders are set for Jan. 11, 12, 15, 17, 18 and 19.
The Super Late Model portion of the miniseries will once again boast the Keyser Quarter-Million Challenge, a lucrative program that offers a $250,000 bonus for sweeping all six features; $100,000 for winning five; $25,000 for capturing four; and $10,000 for claiming three. With the Wild West Shootout offering five features paying $5,000 to win and a $15,000-to-win finale, a driver able to pull off the feat of sweeping the races would depart Arizona with $290,000.
