Wild West Shootout
M&W Transport Doubles Wild West Shootout Late Model Point Fund
Kelley Carlton Phoenix, Arizona (August 22, 2016) – January’s Wild West Shootout mini-series set for Arizona Speedway continues to grow. Promoters Chris Kearns and Kevin Montgomery have emphasized improving on the event each year since they took the reins of the popular event. The 2017 edition will be no exception as newly acquired sponsorship has now doubled the Super Late Model point fund. M&W Transport will join returning sponsors Black Diamond Race Cars and Club 29 Race Cars. The additional support will raise the point fund to a total of $10,000. The overall champion will now receive $3000 and the top 10 drivers in the final standings will also receive a point fund check.
M&W Transport is a specialized transport and long-haul trucking company based in West Columbia, South Carolina. M&W is owned and operated by Carl Sherwood. Sherwood is a former racer himself who now supports several race teams including Super Late Model racer Dennis “Rambo Franklin. “I watched the Wild West Shootout pay-per-views on DirtonDirt.com earlier this year and thought that it would be a great opportunity for our company to expand its brand and give us some much-needed exposure on the West Coast. They did a really good job of promoting their sponsors and that is what we were looking for. We service all of the lower 48 states and parts of Canada and Mexico with our specialized and equipment hauling. Plus we love racing, so that made this just a natural fit.
“We are constantly looking for ways to improve the Wild West Shootout both for the drivers and for the fans. The addition of this sponsorship from M&W Transport will allow us to put a nice bit of extra money in to the pocket of the guys who support the event. We paid the top 5 last year and now we will pay the top 10. We know how important that extra cash can be in making it possible for the racers to come to this event. We are very grateful to Mr. Sherwood for believing in the event and partnering with us to continue its growth. said Wild West Shootout Co-Promoter Chris Kearns.
The 2017 Keyser Manufacturing Wild West Shootout kicks off Jan. 7 with the next two events Jan. 8 and Jan. 11. The miniseries finishes with three straight nights of action Jan. 13-15, leaving a handful of off days in between for drivers and fans alike to take in the sites or recharge their batteries.
