Midwest Power Series Set to Open with Clean Sweep Weekend May 24-25
Jackson, MN (May 21, 2024) - The Midwest Power Series 2024 season is set to kick off this coming weekend Friday & Saturday at two of the premier tracks in the country! A pair of $3,000 to win features and a $3,000 bonus for a weekend sweep are on the line. Defending Midwest Power Series Champion Sam Henderson of Tea, SD is expected to begin the defense of his 2023 title at Jackson Motorplex on Friday night.
Friday, May 24 will be the opening night for the 2024 schedule for Midwest Power Series. The season starts at the track that's been frequented more than any other and that's the Jackson Motorplex. A $3,000 to win feature is on tap to get things started. The night will be highlighted by the Wieskus Memorial for the 360 sprint car division. It also serves as Night #1 for the annual Clean Sweep Weekend pairing up with Knoxville Raceway the following night. This will be the 26th visit to the southern Minnesota facility in series history. Lee Grosz leads the way all-time with 4 victories to his credit. Jack Dover and Justin Henderson each have 3. The Friday night portion of the weekend at Jackson will be ran with MSTS on the card, as Midwest Power Series often times joins with this great 360 regional series based in Sioux Falls for several events each season at local area tracks.
Saturday, May 25 the series heads south to the Sprint Car Capitol of the World. Knoxville Raceway plays host to the 2nd night of our double header and serves as the final night for the Clean Sweep Weekend with another $3,000 to win feature event. The track has played host 6 separate times in the past for the Clean Sweep bonus provided by GRP Motorsports and the Midwest Power Series. Last year Aaron Reutzel joined Justin Henderson as the only two drivers to have accomplished the difficult task of winning both features and earning the additional $3,000 prize that goes with it. Who will have the chance this year to claim victory and a big payday if they can win both Friday and Saturday night? Come on out both nights and enjoy some very competitive 360 winged sprint car racing action at two of the nation's finest facilities. You can catch all of the action on DIRTVision.com both nights if you are unable to make it to the track.
