$4,646 To Win For ASCS Elite Outlaw Sprints At Texarkana On Saturday

TEXARKANA, Ark. (July 8, 2024) Keeping the tradition of the Ralph Henson Memorial presented by Clifton Freight Services, Inc. going, as well as the massive Independence Day Fireworks show, Texarkana 67 Speedway will be in action on Saturday, July 13, with the MYCO Plastics ASCS Elite Outlaw Sprints on track for $4,646 to win.

Starting at I-30 Speedway in Little Rock, Ark., in 2008, with Gary Wright picking up the inaugural victory, the Ralph Henson Memorial was last contested in 2022, with Aaron Retuzel reporting to Victory Lane. The 2023 edition was twice claimed by rain.

A list of mid-south racing royalty, other winners of the Ralph Henson Memorial include Jeff Swindell (2009), Zach Pringle (2010 and 2011), Dale Howard (2012), Cody Gardner (2013), Jordon Mallett (2014), Tim Crawley (2015 and 2019), Derek Hagar (2016, 2018, and 2021), Tony Bruce, Jr. (2017), and Mark Smith (2020).

Saturday's 17th annual Ralph Henson Memorial, presented by Clifton Freight Services, Inc., will also include several monetary bonuses, including $500 for hard luck and $500 for the pole shuffle winner courtesy of KNP Painting.

Another $500 bonus is up for grabs to the overall fastest qualifier who bests the current 410cid track record, set by current tour point's leader, Blaine Baxter, in 2023 at 13.041 seconds. If not claimed, the bonus goes to the driver finishing tenth in the feature thanks to New Direction Transport.

Marcus Thomas trails Baxter in tour standings by only six points going into Saturday's event. Austin Mundie, Brett Becker, and Cody Garden make up the top five.

Saturday, July 13 opens at 5:00 p.m. with cars on track at 7:00 p.m. (CDT) for hot laps. Other classes include USRA Factory, USRA Stock Cars (2 barrel), Arkansas Factory, and iStocks. Tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for military (with ID), $5 for youth (6-11), and free for kids five and under. Pits are $35.
