Sams III Returning to Devil’s Bowl Winter Nationals With Confidence

Inside Line Promotions – NORTH PORT, Fla. (Oct. 13, 2020) – Danny Sams III has a fond memory of his first-ever visit to Devil’s Bowl Speedway.

The Sams LaMountain Racing driver made his debut at the half-mile oval in Mesquite, Texas, last year. He placed 16th during the opening night of the Winter Nationals before rallying from 21st to 12th in the finale. That earned him the Hard Charger Award for passing the most cars.

“The track is pretty tricky in turns three and four,” Sams III said. “You really have to know how to drive the track. It’s high speed and pretty technical.”

The team returns to the track this Friday and Saturday for the 47th edition of the marquee Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour event. It marks the season finale for the series during the rookie campaign for Sams III.

“The goal is to make the show each night and to get back to 10th in the points,” he said. “We need to keep our nose clean and make the right moves at the right places to have a successful weekend.”

Sams III enters the weekend ranked 11th in the championship standings – only 16 points out of the top 10.
