Hagar Hoping for Continued Success at Lake Ozark Speedway

Inside Line Promotions – MARION, Ark. (Sept. 1, 2020) – A trip to Missouri is on tap for Derek Hagar, who plans on tackling the 11th annual LOS 360 Nationals this weekend.

Hagar will compete on Saturday and Sunday at Lake Ozark Speedway in Eldon, Mo., where he hasn’t raced since September 2018.

“It’s been a couple of years since I’ve been there,” he said. “We didn’t go there last year, but we finished second both nights during this event the year before. We had a good car and actually we’ve had a good car every time we’ve been there. I’m looking forward to getting back there and making some good laps.”

Hagar recorded a feature victory at the dirt oval in 2017. That was the best result of a stout streak of six finishes in the top four, including five podiums, during six starts in 2017 and 2018.

“Any race track in Missouri we seem to fair well at,” he said. “That dirt fits our style of racing. It gets pretty slick and early in the night it’s fast, but not a heavy fast. It’s more maneuverable and more racy.”

Hagar enters the weekend with momentum as he has won five of his last eight races, including three of six starts in a sprint car.

“We haven’t been able to race a lot this year so it’s been great to have the success we have had,” he said. “Hopefully that continues this weekend during both nights at Lake Ozark.”
