Hill Hampered by Misfortune Throughout Short Track Nationals

Inside Line Promotions – LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (Oct. 7, 2019) – Tough pill draws led to challenging nights for Alex Hill during the 32nd annual COMP Cams Short Track Nationals presented by Hoosier Tires at I-30 Speedway last weekend.
“It just wasn’t a good weekend,” she said. “Nothing went our way. We started in the back in our heat races each night and couldn’t get anywhere because the track was pretty much one groove and hammer-down. Then after our heat races our nights got worse.”
Due to the large field of cars at the ASCS Mid-South Region event, Hill was forced to compete each night in the C Main, where her evening went from bad to worse as she ended both nights on the hook after being involved in crashes.
“They were both racing deals,” she said. “I was racing around fifth on Friday when I had contact with another car.
“On Saturday, I started fifth and was racing for second around the middle of the race when another car and mine got together. That crash was harder than the first night. I’m still pretty sore from that one.”
Hoping her bad luck is behind her, Hill is looking forward to another racing doubleheader this Friday and Saturday at Creek County Speedway in Sapulpa, Okla., with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour.
“We’re anxious to get last weekend behind us and move on to this weekend,” she said. “Creek County is another challenging track for us. We’re hoping for some better luck there.”
