Inside Line Promotions – ELDON, Mo. (Sept 3, 2019) – Robbie Price pocketed his second career win in Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour competition to highlight one of his most successful weekends of racing during the 2019 season.

Price earned the triumph on Saturday at Lake Ozark Speedway, where he led all 25 laps to garner the trip to Victory Lane. He also picked up a top five the night before at 34 Raceway in West Burlington, Iowa, along with a top-20 finish during the finale at Lake Ozark Speedway. The three results propelled him into the seventh position in the ASCS championship standings.

“It’s nice to have good runs and get a win,” he said. “Morale is big within the team and we’re feeling good as a result. Any time you can win and move forward you’re feeling good about things.”

Price kicked off three nights of racing Friday night at 34 Raceway by winning his heat from the pole position. The finish was good enough to guarantee him the 10th starting position in the feature.

With the leaders in heavy traffic and swapping positions, Price remained steady around the seventh position for the first half of the race. As multiple cautions bunched the field up throughout the second half of the race, Price utilized restarts to move himself forward to finish fourth.

“We were pretty good,” he said. “We were deep in the heat and didn’t have a chance to make the redraw so we started 10th. The track didn’t really allow me to do too much, but I was able to capitalize on restarts and we had a great run.”

Price followed the series 234 miles to Lake Ozark Speedway for two nights of ASCS racing. Night 1 started successfully on Saturday as Price rallied from sixth to second place in a heat race. He duplicated that performance in a qualifier to garner the pole position for the main event after accumulating the most points.

Utilizing the cushion of the speedway, Price withstood multiple slide job attempts on restarts from Sam Hafertepe Jr. and took advantage of timely cautions to take the checkered flag as the winner by 2.610 seconds.

“We were really quick all night and I knew from the start we had a chance on this style track,” he said. “Sam showed his nose there a few times on restarts, but the car was so good on the top that I’d just blow by him. Every time we caught traffic we’d get a yellow and having that clean air most of the night ultimately is what got us into Victory Lane.”

Price won a heat race, placed sixth in a qualifier and ended third in a B Main to transfer into the back of the main event on Sunday. He gained a pair of positions during the non-stop feature to finish 20th.

“We were really good in the heat race and the car just got really tight in the qualifier,” he said. “We buried ourselves as a result and we didn’t have the car free enough in the feature. It’s not what you want coming off a win, but overall it was a successful weekend.”

With the ASCS National Tour off this weekend, Price is planning to head to I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, Neb., on Saturday to participate in the Casey’s General Stores Fall Brawl with the Carpet Land Nebraska 360 Sprints.
