Inside Line Promotions – ELDON, Mo. (Sept. 5, 2018) – Scott Bogucki charged to a pair of top-15 finishes against big fields of competitors last weekend at Lake Ozark Speedway, which hosted the 9th annual LOS 360 Sprint Car Nationals.

The SawBlade.com sponsored driver opened the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour presented by SawBlade.com doubleheader on Saturday by placing seventh in a heat race and fourth in a B Main. He was forced to use a series provisional to start near the back of the main event.

“We weren’t that bad, but it was one of those deals where if you slid someone and didn’t make it back to the cushion you got freight trained,” he said. “We still managed to go from 24th to 14th in the A Main.”

Sunday started promising with a heat race win, but attempting to make a pass in the qualifier resulted in the loss of a few positions. That put Bogucki in a B Main, in which he missed a transfer position by one spot and was forced to use a provisional to start the A Main once again.

“The B Main had four ASCS national guys starting in the first two rows and we pretty much finished where we started,” he said. “You either ran the bottom or top. Sammy (Swindell, who swept the weekend) was in a whole different class. He’s still a bad ass racer. He could run the middle when no one else could. Again, we passed some cars though and ended up 15th.”

Bogucki remains eighth in the ASCS National Tour championship standings with their next races not until Sept. 20-22 at Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Mo.

That opens up the schedule for Bogucki, who is the leading candidate for Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour presented by SawBlade.com Rookie of the Year Award, to compete in several events in other owners’ cars the next couple of weeks as he prepares for the final ASCS National Tour events throughout the next two months.

“I have the opportunity to race the Gold Cup (this Wednesday through Saturday) at Silver Dollar Speedway (in Chico, Calif.) in the car I ran the World Challenge at Knoxville Raceway (in Knoxville, Iowa) with,” he said. “Then we plan to race their 410 car with the World of Outlaws at Placerville Speedway (in Placerville, Calif.) on Sept. 12 before heading back to race our car with the IRA Series at Deer Creek Speedway (in Spring Valley, Minn.) on Sept. 15. That will keep me ready when we get back to the final ASCS races.”
