Inside Line Promotions – ELDON, Mo. (Sept. 4, 2018) – Harli White showed improvement throughout her debut at Lake Ozark Speedway, which hosted the 9th annual LOS 360 Sprint Car Nationals last weekend.

White made a big leap between the first and second night of the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour presented by SawBlade.com, bettering her results across the board on Sunday.

The event began on Saturday with a high pill draw that started her last in a heat race. White rallied from ninth to sixth place, which lined her up near the back of a qualifier. She placed ninth and closed the night with a seventh-place finish in a B Main.

“The draw was a huge factor being that many cars,” she said. “There was a lot of passing, but I was in an early heat race. I got a good start, but going into the first corner I got pushed out of the way. That could have cost us more positions in the heat, which would have set us up better the rest of the night.

“We learned a lot and put that knowledge to use on Sunday and changed our setup quite a bit.”

Sunday got off to a much better start as White drew a low number to line up on the outside of the front row of a heat race. She finished second in both a heat race and a qualifier, which earned enough points to lock directly into the 41-lap A Main.

White battled with a handful of cars near her 14th starting position for most of the race before ending 16th.

“It didn’t go as planned because we missed the setup,” she said. “I think we had the nose too high on the race car and it hurt us so I wasn’t able to race anyone. I would get tight like I was in dirty air. A lot of people had been there and there were a lot of locals. Knowing how the track is and what it likes are things you have to learn about a track. We’ll be better prepared the next time we race there.

“Overall, it wasn’t a bad weekend. We rolled the car into the trailer each night and learned a lot. It was a fun race track and a nice facility. I’m thankful to have another track to go to.”

White ranks 11th in the ASCS National Tour championship standings – only 49 points out of the top 10 – with seven races remaining. The next ASCS National Tour event is the 8th annual Jesse Hockett/Daniel McMillin Memorial Sept. 20-22 at Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Mo.
