Old School Racing’s Tankersley Seeking Fourth Straight ASCS Gulf South Region Win

Inside Line Promotions – HIGHLANDS, Texas (Aug. 7, 2018) – Channin Tankersley is aiming to accomplish a feat for the first time in his career this Saturday.

The Old School Racing driver will venture to Battleground Speedway in Highlands, Texas, where he hopes to capture his fourth straight ASCS Gulf South Region victory. He recently tied his career-best streak of three in a row.

“Winning in anything is a big deal and it’s always a great feeling,” he said. “We’ve been running really well lately. Our preparation has been good and our confidence has been building. Those are two key factors toward any success you might have as a race car driver.”

Tankersley has dominated each of the last three ASCS Gulf South Region races, sweeping each night by winning both a heat race and the main event. It has helped him build a 75-point lead in the championship standings with six races remaining in the current schedule.

“We’ve also been working on a few things and trying some things out for when we race some bigger races later in the season,” he said. “We’ve improved in some areas and learned some things with our setup that I think will benefit us in the future.”

Tankersley has finished on the podium during all three starts at Battleground Speedway this season. He placed second in June before winning a pair of races in July.

“Battleground is a home track where I’ve logged a lot of laps,” he said. “I think that helps with confidence, too, knowing you’ve competing at a track for many years. We’ve also won a lot of races there throughout the years so that doesn’t hurt either.”
