Hanks Venturing to Timberline Speedway Saturday With ASCS Red River Region

Inside Line Promotions – BURLISON, Tenn. (Oct. 4, 2016) – Brandon Hanks owns a 183-point lead in the ASCS Red River Region championship standings entering this Saturday’s showdown.

Hanks and the series are heading to Timberline Speedway in Corley, Texas, for the first time this year.

“Our race there last year was our first in a J-R1 chassis,” he said. “I think we got a top 10 and started building momentum.”

Hanks won a heat race before he placed eighth in the main event during last year’s visit. This season he’s closing in on his first career sprint car championship and doesn’t want to make any bad decisions.

“You just have to think about the big picture,” he said. “Is it worth the risk on the type of moves you make? If you’re running fourth and the leader is gone and you have to throw a risky move for third it might not be worth it.”

Hanks is tied for the region lead with two wins. He has also posted nine top fives and 11 top 10s – both lead the region – in 15 features.

“Hopefully we’ll have another good points night and keep building that lead,” he said.
