Inside Line Promotions – LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (Nov. 3, 2015) – Travis Rilat capped his season last week during the 28th annual COMP Cams Short Track Nationals at I-30 Speedway, where rain plagued the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour event.

Thursday was the only night during the four-race weekend that was contested and Rilat started it on the right foot by winning his heat race from the pole position. That lined him up on the outside of the second row for a qualifier.

“The first part of the night went well,” he said. “Then the track got rougher and heavier as the night went on. We made changes to the car for the qualifier, but not as drastic as needed to be. We loosened it up quite a bit, but it wasn’t enough.”

Rilat ended with a seventh-place result in the qualifier, which relegated him to a B Main.

“We were able to do a little more with the setup for the B Main,” he said.

Rilat quickly advanced from his third starting position into the runner-up spot. He maintained that position to earn a transfer into the main event.

“In the A Main the track got even rougher,” he said. “It was tough starting at the back. I made 15 laps or so and it didn’t look like I was going to move any further forward. They were tearing cars up so I decided to cut my losses, save my car and pull into the pits.”

Rilat was credited with an 18th-place result after exiting the track midway through the feature.

He finished the year with six feature wins, which was his most in a season since 2012.
