J.J. Hickle races to Frontier Region Victory at Billings
BILLINGS, Mont. (September 12, 2014) It didn't take long for J.J. Hickle to find Victory Lane again with the Frontier Region of the American Sprint Car Series, parking the Peterson Motorsports No. 23n on night one of the Dan Laber Memorial at the Billings Motorsports Park.
Coming from sixth, Hickle had to work past series point's leader, Joe Ramaker for the win. The Idaho veteran crossed second with Phil Dietz third. David Hoiness settled for fourth after starting on the pole with Bill Boyce coming from tenth to fifth.
Jeremy McCune was sixth with Kelly Miller seventh from thirteenth. Trever Kirkland, Clint Anderson, and Steve Nelson from twentieth made up the top ten.
Going into the final night of action for the Frontier Region on Saturday night at the BMP Speedway, Joe Ramaker has secured the 2014 title with a 112 point margin over Kelly Miller. As it stands, Ramaker mathematically would have to not show up in order to lose the championship.
The race for second is still close however as Phil Dietz stands only 4 points back from Miller. Trever Kirkland looks to land fourth in the standings with Jeremy McCune currently fifth.
