Look Ahead: Lucas Oil ASCS onward to Arkansas and Tennessee

Bryan Hulbert - TULSA, Okla. (August 14, 2013) Working into the final 17 dates of the 2013 season, the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series presented by MAVTV American Real returns to the southern United States for a two night swing through Arkansas and Tennessee.

Rescheduled from its original July date, the I-30 Speedway in Little Rock, Ark. will host the national arm of the ASCS Nation for the sixty-fourth time since 1993 in a rare mid-week appearance on Thursday, August 22.

The most recent winner at the Arkansas quarter mile is Jason Johnson who snagged the victory on April 6, 2013 to bring his win total at “Hammer Hill” to eight. The Lucas Oil ASCS presented by MAVTV American Real will be joined by IMCA Modifieds, Bumper-to-Bumper Street Stocks, and Mini Sprints. Admission is $20.

Originally scheduled to be a three day swing, with a stop in Paragould, Ark. on Friday, August 23, the date at Crowley’s Ridge was unfortunately scrubbed as the promoter works to get the track in order after the passing of his Father earlier this year.

Leaving a travel day for the Lucas Oil ASCS presented by MAVTV American Real, a new venue greets drivers on Saturday, August 24 at the Lexington 104 Speedway in Lexington, Tenn. Located midway between Memphis and Nashville off I-40, the three-eighths mile, mildly banked underwent a massive reconstruction before opening to the public on May 24, 2013.

Located just outside Lexington, Tenn. a cool half million was spent on upgrades to the facility. The visit to Lexington will be the seventh facility visited by the Lucas Oil ASCS presented by MAVTV American Real in the state of Tennessee since 1993, and is slated to be the thirty-eighth time the National arm of the ASCS Nation has completed in the “Volunteer State”.

The Lucas Oil ASCS presented by MAVTV American Real will be joined by the Hobby Stocks, who will be competing for a $2,500 payday. Admission for the Saturday date is $20.
