Bell wins Gulf South thriller at Baytown

Bryan Hulbert - BAYTOWN, Texas (June 22, 2013) Christopher Bell parked the Baytown Ford No. 31b in victory lane Saturday night at the Royal Purple Raceway after trading the lead six times at the line with Aaron Reutzel over the course of 30 laps.

Leading the first eight rounds, Reutzel surrendered the point on Lap 9 only to regain it on Lap 10. Bell again advanced to the point on Lap 12, only to see the Wren Motorsports No, 87 bolt by on Lap 13.

Reutzel showed the next fifteen laps as Bell and series points’ leader Ray Allen Kulhanek traded the runner up spot with Bell pulling back to second on Lap 23 after surrendering it on Lap 17. From there, the Norman, Okla. driver jumped back to the lead on Lap 28 and led the final rounds for the night’s $3,000 score.

Aaron Reutzel claimed second with Ray Allen Kulhanek third. Travis Elliot and Michael Lang completed the top five.
