ASCS Rebels Ready for Green Valley

Sarasota, Florida's Danny Martin, Jr., can move one step closer to his first American Sprint Car Series championship this Friday night when the ASCS Rebel Region makes its lone stop of the season at Green Valley Speedway in Glencoe, AL.
Friday's tilt atop the semi-banked, 3/8-mile Green Valley Speedway clay oval marks the seventh event of the season for the ASCS Rebel Region.
And, with five top-five runs in six previous events including a January 30 win at Tampa's East Bay Raceway Park, Martin has amassed a 62-point advantage over Jacksonville, Florida's Matt Kurtz in the ASCS Rebel title chase.
Largo, Florida's Bob Auld enters Friday's action ranked third behind Martin and Kurtz, with Aubrey Black and Matt Linder rounding out the current top five in points.
Mississippi's Michael Miller topped last year's ASCS Rebel stop at Green Valley, with Memphis-area shoes Wade Oliver and Brad Bowden victorious at Green Valley in 2007.
Friday's ASCS Rebel Region action at Green Valley Speedway fires off at 8:00 p.m.
Green Valley Speedway is located near Gadsen, AL, in Glencoe, 4.5 miles southeast of US 278 on US 431, then four miles southwest of Green Valley Road. For more information, contact the track at 256-492-8550.
The ASCS Rebel Region is slated for ten nights of competition in 2009 at eight different tracks throughout Georgia, Florida and Alabama.
