ASCS Rebel Region Rolls into Northwest Florida

The American Sprint Car Series Rebel Region championship points chase continues this Friday night as the series takes to the high-banked, 3/8-mile Northwest Florida Speedway in Baker, FL.
Friday's event marks the series lone stop of the year atop the Northwest Florida Speedway clay oval, with Sarasota's Danny Martin, Jr., trying to close in on hs first ASCS championship.
Martin holds a 54-point Rebel advantage over Jacksonville, Florida's Matt Kurtz entering this weekend's action, with just a handful of events remaining on the slate.
Bob Auld enters Saturday's action ranked third, with Matt Linder and Nick Bashford rounding out the current top five. The balance of the current top ten includes Tim Perry, Brian Maddox, Aubrey Black, Brad Wickham and Frank Beck III.
Northwest Florida Speedway was the site of a pair of first-time ASCS winners in 2008, as Don Young snared his first win in June and then Tyler Godwin broke into ASCS victory lane for the first time in August.
Friday's ASCS Rebel Region action at Northwest Florida Speedway is set to go green at 8:00 p.m.

The ASCS Rebel Region is slated for 11 nights of competition at eight different tracks throughout Georgia, Florida and Alabama.

The American Sprint Car Series, in its 18th year of sanctioning Sprint Car racing events, brings the best of Sprint Car racing to nearly 100 different tracks throughout 25 states and Canada in 2009.
