Ramey Rules ASCS Lone Star Debut at RPM
Lonnie Wheatley, CRANDALL, Texas (July 10, 2009) – Kevin Ramey extended his American Sprint Car Series Lone Star Region points lead by wiring the field in Friday night's series debut atop the cozy confines the tight, ¼-mile RPM Speedway.
Starting from the front row, Ramey gunned into the lead at the outset aboard the Wells-powered City Vending/Melray Oil & Gas No. 7m and led all the way in the 25-lapper to secure his third series triumph of the season.
The two-time ASCS Sooner Region champion vying for the inaugural Lone Star title took the checkered flag in front of Skip Wilson, with Marvin Lough, Justin Melton and Claud Estes rounding out the top five.
Brad Welborn was sixth, with 16th-starter Matt Clevenger, Martin Edwards, Glenn Martin and Robert Sellers completing the top ten.
Chad Wilson, Melton and Sellers topped heat race action, with Martin winning the "B" Main.
