Taylor doing double duty at 40th IMCA Super Nationals
BOONE, Iowa – One colorful entry for the 2022 IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s is Peyton Taylor.
The Batesville, Ark., traveler pilots both an IMCA Sunoco Stock Car with a Stroker Ace theme and a Friesen Performance IMCA Modified.
“We’re just excited to have the Slim Chickens Cadillac Chassis here and the Acre Trader Lethal Chassis here too,” commented Taylor. “It’s a lot to do two cars. Not many people do it, but the ones that do know what it takes."
Taylor has made the Modified Big Dance once, finishing 26th in 2018.
“If we could make both shows, that would be such a big win for our program. We’ve had a strong year this season and feel like we are coming in with our guns loaded and ready,” he said. “We’ve spent a couple of weeks prepping for this. Jordan, my wife, his wife, Cody, Lexi, my son, and all the gang back at Andrews Autosport has given us everything we need to come here.”
Taylor has accomplished five wins in the 2022 campaign, starting with a February sweep of the Winter Nationals weekend at Milton, Fla.’s Southern Raceway and another Modified checkered at Batesville Motor Speedway. He also has two Stock Car triumphs, at I-30 Speedway and at Batesville.
“We are going to try and win the show, but you know what they say, ‘If you can’t win the show, then be the show,’” he said. “Our year has been great. We’ve had some solid runs, but we’ve had a few hiccups. We had a monkey on our back for a little while, but we shook him off. We prep every race like it’s the biggest one we are going to run.”
