CHAD CHEVALIER AT STATELINE SPEEDWAY AND JAMES MICHAEL FRIESEN AT HUMBERSTONE TAKE HOME BIG PAY DAYS IN RACE OF CHAMPIONS DIRT 602 SPORTSMAN MODIFIED

James Michael Friesen of Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario capped off the weekend with big win in the Canada Day Celebration at Humberstone Speedway while Chad Chevalier of Port Colborne, Ontario scored the Saturday night victory in the Series ever visit to Stateline Speedway in Busti, N.Y.
Chevalier dominated the Stateline 7 division Open Wheel Mania event leading every lap.
“It took me a bit to figure this place out,” stated Chevalier from victory lane. “It’s different than the tracks we normally race. It was great to be here and to come out a winner is tremendous. We are very thankful the track hosted us and gave us the opportunity to compete.”
Chevalier topped Cody McPherson, James Henry, Brad Rouse and Josh Wilcox of Franklinville, N.Y.
Rouse of St. Catharines, Ontario earned the Speed51.com Top of the Board Award and an additional $51 dollars during group qualifying.
On Sunday night James Michael Friesen wrestled the lead away from Adam Leslie with just 15-laps remaining in the feature. Friesen went on to hold off Cody McPherson of St. Catharines, Ontario to earn his first Race of Champions Dirt 602 Sportsman Modified Series victory.
“We had a good night and were good the moment we unloaded,” beamed Friesen from victory lane. “This is a great way to celebrate the Holiday. I want to thank my guys and everyone that helps us make this possible. It’s always great to win these races.”
McPherson finished second with Rouse coming home third. Adam Leslie of Port Colborne, Ontario and Darrell Farraway of Hamilton, Ontario.
