MINERAL WELLS, WEST VIRGINIA (October 10, 2021)– The Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Northern Series and the Zimmer’s United Late Model Series would co-sanction the final night of the 2021 RACEFEST World Championship at West Virginia Motor Speedway and Devin Moran of Dresden, OH would follow up his win on Saturday by leading all thirty-five on the main event on Sunday evening and claiming the $15,000 first place payday.

The victory by the 27 year-old Moran was his fourth career Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Northern Series victory and was his third victory of the season with the tour as well. be his second of the season as well. The drop of the green flag on the $15,000 RACEFEST World Championship feature event would see Devin Moran grab the race lead, while Max Blair, Kyle Strickler, Colton Burdette, and Rod Conley would give chase to Moran. Moran would open his lead a bit by lap five and would start working slower traffic by lap seven. Third-place running Strickler would pull his mount to the infield on lap seven with mechanical issues and be done for the event. By lap ten, Moran would be in heavy traffic, allowing Blair to close in on Moran somewhat, while Burdette would now be third, followed by Conley and Michael Chilton. The first caution of the race would appear one lap later as Tristan Chamberlain would make heavy contact with the outside retaining wall in turn three and see his race to come an end. The restart would also see the caution flag come right back out when Robbie Bostic would loop his machine on the backstretch and have to be towed to the infield, ending his race. This next restart would see Moran get a great run off the bottom of turn four and maintain the lead, with Blair, Burdette, Conley, and Chilton remaining second through fifth. The front five would remain the same, with Moran once again pulling away from the field when the caution waved on lap eighteen for Ralph Francis, who would slow on the backchute. This restart would also not see a lap completed when a tangle in turn three involving George Klintworth, Ed Shuman, Deshawn Gingerich, and Dustin Smith slow the action. The next attempted would go green with the front five remaining the same, with Moran again putting some distance on the rest of the field. The final caution of the race would wave on lap twenty-five when Dave Stamm would spin his mount in turn two. The final restart would see Moran once again get a great jump on the field, with Blair and Burdette remaining second and third, while Chilton would challenge for the fourth position and finally grab the spot on lap twenty-seven. Moran would motor away from the field in the remaining laps and take the win by 3.289 seconds over Blair, while Burdette would settle for third. Chilton and Conley would complete the top five. The remainder of the top ten finishers would be Ryan Montgomery, Eric Hamilton, Jr., Dustin Nobbe, Deshawn Gingerich, and Ted Nobbe.
