26 Promotions – Casa Grande, AZ – (June 6, 2018) – Jarrett Martin scored his second Power 600 Series feature win of the season Saturday night at Central Arizona Speedway.

The Non-Wing Micro Sprints kicked off the festivities on Saturday night with Martin lining up on the outside of the second row in the first heat.

“Looking at the track before mud packing, the track looked like it wasn’t going to be as heavy as it was two weeks ago,” said Martin. “The track had pretty much come all the way in for hot laps, so I thought that it would go away a little quicker than usual.”

Martin battled his way from fourth to second in the eight-lap heat, finishing just behind his Streaker Racing teammate Clay Sprau. The two of them would end up being the night’s top two qualifiers, with Martin starting on the inside of row three for the start of the 20-lap feature.

“The track was better than I had expected in the heat and while I was walking the track during intermission, it looked like it was going to be heavier than I had anticipated,” he explained. “We tightened the car up a little more, but not as much as we usually would, mainly to try and go forward as early as possible before it started to slick off and go one lane.”

Martin did exactly that as he moved into second within the first handful of laps and took over the top spot before the halfway mark. After taking the lead, Martin suddenly had an ill-handling race car on his hands.

“Shortly after we took the lead, the lower right front radius rod came unbolted from the chassis,” he explained. “The car turned into a real handful to drive. It was super tight through the middle of the corners and almost wanted to take the wheel out of my hands. It was good that we were already in the lead at that point because I couldn’t have passed any more cars with the car driving like that.”

Martin caught a couple of small breaks with cautions falling as he began to deal with lapped traffic.

“I was really good on restarts, and that helped me gap second-place enough to where it took him a lap or two to catch up with me,” he said. “The last green flag run was about five laps, and I was barely hanging on to an ill-handling car.”

Martin took the checkers with just over a half-second advantage to secure his second victory of the year.

Martin is scheduled to be back in action in the Streaker Racing Micro Sprint at Show Low Speedway Park on Saturday night.

Jarrett Martin would like to thank Streaker Racing, K Corp, Pace Chassis, My Race Pass, Paint by Steve, The Race Shack, and Bell Helmets for their continued support.
