26 Promotions – Peoria, AZ – (October 4th, 2017) – Jarrett Martin entered this past weekend’s Hall of Fame Classic one point behind in the Power 600 Series championship standings, with only a few races left this season, Martin knows every position counts down the stretch.

“Friday night the track was looking pretty good while we were packing and during hot laps, no signs of it going away early,” said Martin. “Starting third in the heat, I knew I could make up some ground but I had to do it early. I was up to second and was lucky enough to catch a yellow with a few to go and try for the lead. I got close and we raced hard for a little bit but couldn’t make it work.”

The second-place finish earned Martin just enough passing points to make the six-car invert, placing him on the pole for the start of the twenty-five lap feature.

“The track went away faster than I thought it would, so our setup went away pretty quickly,” explained Martin. "I was able to hold off challenges from a couple guys behind me as well as lots of lap traffic and yellows to take the win.”

Martin entered Saturday’s Hall of Fame Classic finale looking to put together a solid weekend and leave with the points lead.

“Saturday, we prepped the cars and headed back out to the track. I drew a deeper pill and the track was a little heavier than the night before at heat race time,” Martin explained. “I tried to get to the front quick but ended up in no man's land trying to make a move on the outside and that ended my race.”

Starting sixteenth in the feature, Martin worked his way up through the field, exchanging fifth and sixth back and forth with Dale Eliason Jr, eventually claiming the position in the closing laps.

“It was an eventful race with lots of close calls, but we survived it to run fifth,” said Martin. “I feel like we had a better car than fifth-place, but it was good to stay out of trouble and I guess you have to take fifth every once in a while. But, to get a win on the Hall of Fame Classic weekend is pretty cool, that is definitely one of the biggest Micro races at Canyon all year and one that we all look forward to.”

Martin returns to action on October 14th at Canyon Speedway Park for CSP Octoberfest.

Jarrett Martin would like to thank Streaker Racing, K Corp, Pace Chassis, MyRacePass, The Race Shack, Paint by Steve, Resolute Performance Contracting, and Bell Helmets for their continued support.
