Rookie Tristin Thomas Looking to Capitalize on the Season

Belleville, IL. (10/13/2020) Tristin Thomas of Burlington, WA. has had quite the year with both of the POWRi Lucas Oil National and West Midget Leagues. In only his rookie season, Thomas has shown improvement and is looking to capture his first career victory this coming weekend.

Thomas sits behind the wheel of the No. 26 Rudeen Racing SR-11 powered midget. 2020 has been Thomas’ first year behind the seat with both POWRi midget leagues. The past few years Thomas has been testing his hand while behind the wheel of a Focus Midget out on the west coast. This season he jumped in with the best of the best in midget racing and has had quite the mounds of success.

Last season Thomas had two wins, thirteen top five and sixteen top ten finishes in the Focus Midgets. Having a good year ultimately set him up for success looking forward to the 2020 season. Thomas sits third in season championship points with the POWRi Lucas Oil West Midgets. He has four top five finishes and eight top ten. His best finish came to him with a second-place finish at Federated Auto Parts I-55 Raceway in Pevely, MO.

Thomas sits back a little under 400 points behind second place runner Jake Neuman. Thomas has to potential to bump himself up into the second place for season points after this coming weekend. Tristin Thomas will be back behind the wheel of the No. 26 Rudeen Racing Midget this weekend, October 15-17. Port City Raceway in Tulsa, OK. will be on Thursday, October 15. Then Thomas will travel to finish off the POWRi season at I-44 Riverside Speedway in Oklahoma City, OK. Friday and Saturday, October 16 & 17.
