POWRi Lightning Sprint Leagues to Battle at I-35 Speedway

Belleville, IL. (09/23/2020) Wanting to squeeze as much racing action out of this unorthodox 2020 racing season as possible, many competitors from the POWRi Lucas Oil Minn-Kota Lightning Sprint Series will take the multiple-hour journey south to test their open-wheel talents against one of the longest-tenured Lightning Sprint organizations in the country. The POWRi Lucas Oil Midwest Lightning Sprints and I-35 Speedway, in Winston, Missouri, have issued the challenge to all competitors for Saturday, September 26th to decide which regional lightning sprint series will reign supreme in this one-of-a-kind event.

Drivers from the northern series to take on the heartland lightning sprinters that have accepted the challenge includes series director #100 Jason Berg, 2019 Rookie of the Year #22 Bryce Haugeberg, lightning sprint front-runners #51 Cody Swenson, #19 Wesley Van Drunen, and #19s Travis Surerus; with many more competitors still mulling over the idea of traveling to the “Show-Me State” for one more chance to race this season.

POWRi Lucas Oil Midwest Lightning Sprint Series Point-Leader Stanley Kreisel #18 heads into the final week the heavy favorite having claimed eight feature wins this season, including the previous visit to I-35 Speedway. Not to be denied though, Chase Fischer #22, acquiring three feature wins of his own, goes into the last points race ready to strike in second place back 138 points behind Kreisel. Capturing one feature victory in 2020 Brandon Smith #11 has maintained a very impressive season with consistency and poise only trailing the points leader 150 points, still very much in the hunt for a championship Smith hopes the added entrants will aid his late-season push in points.

Will home-track advantages may come into effect as the POWRi Lucas Oil Midwest Lightning Sprinters are very versed in the tricky three-eighths-mile oval located right off Interstate 35, having already completed nine feature events at the Winston Missouri track this season; or will the traveling bandits of the POWRi Lucas Oil Minn-Kota Lightning Sprints prove to be too quick and take the hardware back north?

Fans do not want to miss out on this open-wheel excitement, more details about I-35 Speedway in Winston, Missouri can be found online at www.i-35speedway.net or follow along on social media platforms @I35Speedway.

Racing in the POWRi Lucas Oil Midwest Lightning Sprints is extremely competitive with low-cost maintenance with new drivers coming out nearly every week.
