TWO MAIN EVENTS FOR LIGHTNING SPRINT CARS AT VENTURA!

(Torrance, CA, October 20, 2019) Fans of the POWRi Lucas Oil California Lightning Sprint Car Series will get an early Halloween treat this Saturday night, October 26th, at the Ventura Raceway. In addition to the regular show, the CLS will stage an extra main event to make up for the race that was postponed due to the power outage at the track on October 5th.

After the heat races on Saturday, the CLS drivers will run the postponed main event. Only drivers who participated on October 5th are eligible for the makeup race. Later in the night, the club will run it’s regularly scheduled main and all drivers in attendance will be eligible for that race.

Spring Valley’s Jarrett Kramer will be the driver to beat in both main events. In the first six CLS races at Ventura this year, Kramer has won five-times. The only other driver to win at the track located next to the beach on the Ventura County Fairgrounds in 2019 is Cody Nigh. The Camarillo resident was first to the checkered flag on August 27th. Prior to that event, Kramer had won the first four races on the track this year. After Nigh’s win, Kramer got back to his winning ways on the dirt oval on September 7th.

Kramer, 37, has one hand on his third CLS championship trophy heading into Saturday’s race. With only two dates remaining on the schedule, he has a commanding 211-point lead over Kingsburg’s Doug Nunes in the championship standings. While Kramer pretty much has the championship trophy under lock and key, the fight for second will go to the last checkered flag in Bakersfield on November 23rd. Second-place Nunes is only five-points ahead of Nigh and only seven ahead of San Diego’s A.J. Bender.

In addition to the CLS, the USAC Western Midgets, Dwarf Cars and WMR Midgets will also be on the program. Spectator gates will open at 3:00 P.M. with the first race slated for 5:30.

Fans who would like to attend the race can find the track on the Ventura County Fairgrounds at 10 W. Harbor Boulevard (93001). The track website is http://venturaraceway.com/ and the office phone number is (805) 648-RACE.
