Kaylee Bryson Bags First Midget Top Ten Finish – Set for Lucas Oil Speedway on Saturday

Lonnie Wheatley, BIXBY, Okla. (May 3, 2019) – Kaylee Bryson notched her first top-ten finish in Midget racing competition with the POWRi West Midget League at Sapulpa, Oklahoma’s Creek County Speedway last Friday night.

Now, the 18-year-old from Muskogee, OK, makes her first visit to Wheatland, Missouri’s Lucas Oil Speedway on Saturday night for a Lucas Oil POWRi National Midget event.

“It will be my first time to go there, I’m excited to be racing there,” Bryson says.

Last week originally called for a POWRi National Midget triple, however weather altered plans. With an early rainout of Friday’s scheduled card at Illinois’ Belle-Clair Speedway, Bryson and the Dave Mac Motorsports No. 11b Toyota-TRD team made an appearance for POWRi West Midget action at Creek County Speedway.

Escaping a heat race tangle, Bryson raced on to a fourth-place finish and the climbed from 13th to post a tenth-place finish in the main event.

“I was getting some good seat time, it was my first time back in the Midget in a while,” Bryson explained.

Mother Nature continued to be problematic, washing out Saturday’s scheduled event at Pevely, Missouri’s Federated Auto Parts I-55 Raceway and then interrupting Sunday’s card at Illinois’ Jacksonville Speedway after Bryson had raced her way into the feature event.

After being collected in a heat race incident, Bryson raced forward in “B” Main action to secure a feature starting position before the skies opened up and put a halt to the action. A makeup date for the feature has not yet been determined.

“I was looking forward to that feature, it was a fun track to race on,” Bryson commented.

It will be more new territory for Bryson on Saturday night at Lucas Oil Speedway.

Along with Toyota-TRD, other marketing partners making the 2019 slate of events for Bryson possible includes Sanders and Associates, Car and Fleet, Mobil 1, Speedway Engine Development, Best Graphics, Fieldhouse Gear, Precision Inspection, Panels by Smoke, Walker Performance, Sanders Wheels, American Discount Brake and Muffler, D&N Fabrication, Darling Ingredients, PJ’s and Hinds Family.
