Giovanni Scelzi Aiming for KWS-NARC Championship Saturday at Stockton

Inside Line Promotions – FRESNO, Calif. (Nov. 7, 2017) – Giovanni Scelzi enters his final race of the season in the hunt for the King of the West-NARC Fujitsu Series championship.

Scelzi and the Roth Motorsports team are only three points out of the lead heading into Saturday’s Tribute to Gary Patterson at Stockton Dirt Track in Stockton, Calif.

“We have the same goal as always, which is to win the race and that will win the championship,” he said.

Scelzi leads the series with three feature victories, 57 A Main laps led and four quick times set during qualifying. He is also tied for the most dash wins with two.

“We’ve had a lot of quick times and wins, most of which came early this year,” he said. “We’re in contention for the championship going into the final race and that’s all you can ask for.”

It will be Scelzi’s second race of the year at the track. He was involved in an opening lap crash in early July during a 360ci winged sprint car race there. Scelzi netted a 10th-place finish during his debut at the oval last year.

“It’s a bigger place and I feel like we’ve been better on the big tracks,” he said. “We strive on slick tracks that are smooth. We have to do well in qualifying, get in the dash and see where we stack up. There will be some good cars and good competition so we’ll have to work for it.”
