PENALTY REPORT: Southern Illinois Raceway & Coles County Speedway KKM Challenge Events

Belleville, IL. (9/9/2024) Working to uphold and enforce the posted specifications and ensure full transparency with competitors, it is imperative that we announce the following penalty report.

POWRi officials have received the results of the tire samples taken on Friday, August 23, 2024, at the Southern Illinois Raceway Keith Kunz Motorsports Challenge event. A competitor in the Jr. Sprint division has failed the tire test, resulting in a loss of points and pay for that event.

Following the post-race inspection in the Restrictor division on Thursday, September 5, 2024, at the Coles County Speedway Keith Kunz Motorsports Challenge event, the original winning competitor was disqualified due to modifications to internal engine parts.

Additionally, the original winning competitor in the Restrictor division on Friday, September 6, 2024, at the Coles County Speedway Keith Kunz Motorsports Challenge event, has also been disqualified for modifications to internal engine parts.

All results have been updated online and on My Race Pass.

The Series rules on tires are as follows:
POWRi Restrictor Specifications; Section 7, Sub-Section b: Any doping of tires is illegal and will result in the disqualification and forfeiture of all purse money. Tire must durometer 45 or harder no later than five minutes after the checkered flag.

The Series rules on engines are as follows:
POWRi Restrictor Specifications; Section 4, Sub-Section b: Except as noted, all internal and external engine parts must remain stock with no modifications, metal removal, blueprinting.
