POWRi Drivers to Watch: Lake Ozark Speedway’s Triple Sprint Showdown September 2-3

Belleville, IL. (8/28/23) Celebrating the extended Labor Day weekend with a premier debuting two-day event, Lake Ozark Speedway will host the inaugural running of the Triple Sprint Showdown combined with the Fifth Annual Non-Wing Nationals on Saturday, September 2nd, and Sunday, September 3rd with a trio of top-notch POWRi sprint divisions.

Overtaking the top spot in the POWRi 410 Bandit Outlaw Sprint Series with a dominating performance to capture the Missouri State Fair championship, Ayrton Gennetten of Versailles Missouri comes into the weekend with a pair of wins on the year while hoping to maintain the winning momentum and catapult his recent run of success into a championship season.

Entering the two-day Ozark showcase, Millersville Missouri motorist Joe B Miller trails in the points chase by only one hundred points after notching a pair of wins on the year with Odessa Missouri rookie-of-the-year leader Xavier Doney staying within series points striking distance only trailing Gennetten by one-hundred-thirty points.

Two-time defending Non-Wing Nationals winner and 2022 League champion Kory Schudy plans to enter the weekend with his sights set on a repeat performance of years gone by as well as 2021 WAR Champion Mario Clouser and Nixa Missouri wheelman Wesley Smith maintains an impressive racing resume ready to claim wins in 2023.

Setting the stage for intrigue and interest, a plethora of drivers will test their talents running double duty, including the traveling merits of Ivan Glotzbach, current point leader in the POWRi Wingless Auto Racing Sprint League Jack Wagner, three-time WAR champ Riley Kreisel as well as rising-star within wing-ranks Jack Potter.

Missouri Open-Wheel Legend Randy Martin brings a wealth of experience and talent into Lake Ozark Speedway within 305 Sprint competition already claiming one win in 2023. Looking to continue to build an outstanding racing resume, 2022 POWRi Micro champion John Barnard looks to continue his solid seasonal showings with Tipton talent Brent Combs leading the current points standing within the burgeoning series.

Additionally, a crop of top contenders within the POWRi 410 Bandit Outlaw Sprint Series will travel to Eldon Missouri including former ASCS National Champion Blake Hahn, Missouri State Fair runner-up Kyle Bellm of Nixa Missouri, Joe B Miller Driver Development Teammate challenges of Scotty Milan and Lane Warner, hired-talent Billy Butler for Crank Racing, as well as Bee Branch Arkansas wheelman Joey Schmidt all plan to enter, plus several more.
